What We Do
I Choose to Be Drug Free Inc. works to prevent youth substance use before it begins. Our approach centers on education, informed choice, and community collaboration—supporting young people, families, and communities in creating environments where healthy, drug-free decisions are encouraged and sustained.
We focus on early prevention and guidance, not treatment or crisis response, recognizing that the most effective solutions start upstream.
How We Approach Prevention
Effective prevention requires more than one solution. We use a comprehensive, community-based approach that strengthens protective factors, reduces risk factors, and supports youth at critical decision points. Our work emphasizes education, leadership, family engagement, and coordinated community action.
At the core of our work is the belief that choice matters—and young people deserve the tools, support, and guidance to choose healthy paths.

Our Four Pillars of Prevention

01
Youth Prevention Education
We provide age-appropriate education for youth ages 11–18 that builds knowledge, confidence, and decision-making skills. Our prevention education supports young people in understanding risks and choosing healthy paths.
02
Parent & Caregiver Education
Parents and caregivers play a vital role in prevention. We equip families with tools, resources, and guidance to strengthen communication, set clear expectations, and support youth through key developmental stages.

03
Youth Leadership & Peer Engagement
We empower youth to take active roles in prevention by promoting leadership, responsibility, and positive peer influence. Youth engagement strengthens connection and helps prevention efforts resonate authentically.
04
Community Collaboration & Coalition Building
We bring together schools, families, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, and community leaders to address shared challenges. Our coalition model supports coordinated, sustainable prevention efforts.
